“Sharing God’s love with all” can happen in many ways and in many places.
Here are some of the ways we feel called to serve and would welcome others to join us—always.

LSS Food Pantry
On the first Wednesday of the month, our volunteers help distribute food and personal items at the Lutheran Social Services food pantry from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
First English Dinner
Every other month we offer a bagged lunch at First English Lutheran Church, which is located in a neighborhood where many live with homelessness and addiction.
Justice Team
This group is committed to social justice. The group members mobilize around issues or concerns in a variety of areas—wherever individual effort might make a positive difference.
LSS-MOFC Food Giveaway
From April through October, on the third Thurday of the month from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., our volunteers hand out produce and various other foodstuffs supplied by Lutheran Social Services and Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Individuals and families who are food insecure are welcome to come and receive food.
Garden Giveaway
Each Saturday morning from June through September, volunteers pick produce from Redeemer’s community garden and then give it away to anyone who stops by from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
Basketball Camp
During the summer months, we provide a 6-week early-evening basketball camp, free of charge, for area youth. Former ABA and NBA player Larry Jones leads the camp, along with help from Redeemer members and other local basketball coaches.
Pride Parade
We march in the annual Columbus Pride Parade, joining with other welcoming Lutheran congregations. As our banner says, “We are a church that belongs to Christ—there is a place for you here.” That’s an important message to share.
Good Neighbors Picnic
Each fall we actively participate in this annual community picnic, which was begun by one of our members to lift up the homeless community. Many individuals and groups work together to provide food, entertainment, warm jackets and blankets, and more.
BREAD
Together with many other Christian and Jewish congregations, we support the work of this nonprofit organization to make Franklin County a more just and compassionate place to live, by researching and advocating for meaningful change.
